Taco Temple has long been a Morro Bay favorite — and now it’s coming to SLO

Popular Morro Bay restaurant Taco Temple is set to open a new location in San Luis Obispo in 2019.

The restaurant, which serves up California fusion food such as tacos, burritos and tostadas, is moving into the space formerly occupied by Margie’s Diner at 1575 Calle Joaquin. Read more here

It may not be Tuesday, but it’s official. Taco Temple restaurant will expand and add another location in San Luis Obispo.

Taco Temple first opened in Cayucos in 1998 before moving to their current spot in Morro Bay in the early 2000s. Read more here

You might think the kitchen got your order wrong when you see the Baja taco plate for the first time. A large portion of grilled or fried cod rests on what looks like a full salad. Growing up in San Diego twenty minutes from the border has it’s perks…gorgeous weather…the beach…and MEXICAN FOOD. Yep, mexican food is something that never gets old for me. Gotta love all the flavor and color! But since moving to the central coast I admit it is tough to find a good hole in the wall mexican food restaurant. That was until I went to Taco Temple. If you have driven along the coast on the 1 you may have been to this little gem, if not this should not be on your bucket list. They are the mecca of tacos.
